UK Lotto FAQ
How does the UK Lotto work?
You pick 6 numbers from 1–59 at £2 per line. Match all six to win the jackpot. A Bonus Ball is also drawn from the remaining 53 balls, but it only matters for the "5 + Bonus" second prize — you don't pick it yourself, which is why this generator gives you exactly six numbers.
When are Lotto draws?
Twice a week — Wednesday and Saturday evenings (around 8 p.m. UK time; sales close at 7:30 p.m. on draw days). Each line also enters the Millionaire Maker raffle code draw automatically.
What are the odds of winning?
The jackpot odds are 1 in 45,057,474. Matching 3 numbers wins a fixed £30, and even 2 matches wins a free Lucky Dip. If the jackpot isn't won for five rolls it becomes a "must-be-won" draw, where the top prize rolls down to lower tiers.
What do the ball colours mean?
They follow the real Lotto machine balls: 1–9 white, 10–19 blue, 20–29 pink, 30–39 green, 40–49 yellow, 50–59 purple. Handy for double-checking your playslip at a glance.
Is a lucky dip worse than my own numbers?
No — every line has identical odds. Random lines avoid the crowd-favourite birthday range (1–31), so a jackpot win is statistically less likely to be shared. This is an unofficial entertainment tool; to play for real, use the official National Lottery site, app or a retailer.
